WARNING ripoff eBay cancelled a purchase I made because of problems with seller but didn't refund my paypal payment!!!
They told me to do it instead. But I couldn't and when I called they wouldn't, said they couldn't file it either. I was transferred several times, assured that I would be helped by "specialists" and never was finally after hours on the phone I hung up. while on the phone they also kept telling me the lie that my account's coverage under the eBay buyer protection program has been suspended was the reason why, but it isn't. I asked for details about that and they refused to tell me why I would or could be suspended. My account is not suspended and I just used the return process for 2 other transaction from bogus eBay sellers selling misrepresented junk.
so then i tried to dispute the transaction on Paypal online and couldn't. it gave me an "unknown error" and I have written Paypal as well about the issue and only got back that I should file a case with eBay!!!
BIG HELP! NEITHER COMPANY IS TRUSTWORTHY
Update: Paypal finally opened a case for this for me. it's been escalated to Paypal and I am awaiting notice of a refund.
and I am not suspended from the Ebay buyer protection program because I am still using it . That was apparently just BS from A LOT of Ebay lackeys on the phone that day and apparently only applied to the one item above. So I think what happened at Ebay bears repeating in all caps:
EBAY CANCELLED 2 ITEMS (i was able to get refunded at Paypal for one transaction which was still unclaimed) I HAD BOUGHT AND PAID FOR, THEY SAID BECAUSE THE SELLER"S ACCOUNT HAD BEEN COMPROMISED AND TOLD ME IF I HAD PAID FOR THEM ALL READY TO OPEN EBAY CASES TO GET MY MONEY BACK. BUT WHEN I TRIED<, I COULD NOT OPEN CASES AND EBAY SAID on the phone I COULDN'T AND NEITHER COULD THEY BECAUSE I WAS SUSPENDED FROM THE BUYER PROTECTION PROGRAM EBAY HAD TOLD ME IN EMAIL TO USE TO GET MY MONEY BACK FOR THE TRANSACTIONS I HAD PAID FOR THAT THEY CANCELLED!!!!!!!!!!
