I'm suspecting now that AMAZON concocted this scam especially for Xmas. I know it's too late for Xmas, but I'm sure they'll resurrect it next year, if not keep it going now. And of course when finally ought and called on it, they'll claim it is an accident that incidentally made them tons of money!
Over the holidays, Amazon has ordered three items in my basket on three separate occasions that I had taken out and never ordered!
IDK if Amazon has stopped this fraud or not.
So if you've put things in your basket and have taken them out, but not all and ordered one of them, in a couple hours, check and make sure Amazon didn't secretly leave the removed item(s) in the basket and ordered it anyway, using your funds.
2 things I caught and cancelled, but an Angry Birds t-shirt going to a child I couldn't. Also, Amazon didn't ship the shirt for 2 days but they still didn't cancel it even though I caught it the night of the first day and asked for it to be cancelled. instead of cancelling the shirt, Amazon put on it "attempting to cancel" for 2 days and the mailed that they "couldn't cancel this item" on the third!
Other frauds Amazon has perpetrated right around the holidays, as a mater of fact, did on my account was switch my payment source on several purchases to my Amazon card without my permission or knowledge instead of my still default payment source, my debit card ! This is supposed to happen per purchase only, because I've chosen the another payment source
instead Amazon kept putting purchases on my Amazon account without my knowledge or consent, which resulted in a late payment and fee because the card had been paid off and I no longer pay attention to it. I got my first email about it, no mail, when payment was late. I had them remove the fee.
The third and least BS that Amazon has perpetrated on my account was some time ago and for awhile: When returning something, I always choose "refund to original payment method" and they wouldn't for several months, instead, putting it on a gift card. I bitched various places FOR MONTHS before they stopped this practice. of course, like always, they were "sorry" and it wasn't " amazon's policy."
Blah blah blah! What company has ever perpetrated frauds on it's customers and then admitted it even when settling a court case about it!
I have A LOT of returns because I shop on a lot on Amazon. Why drive all the way to Walmart to buy the same cheap crap and have to turn right around and drive back to Walmart to take it back when I stay at home and experience the same unpleasable shopping experience and only package it rudimentarily and drop it off at the nearby UP Store, AIR?
I'm suspecting now that Amazon concocted it's current and undoubtedly most profitable scam especially for Xmas and am not certain that they will end the fraudulent practice. After 3 times I am now certain that it is Amazon's fraudulent behavior and not my mistake.
It has happened occasionally in the passed, so I never was sure it wasn't me until now, because I'm an absent minded goof. This time as it happened in rapid succession EVERY TIME i put multiple items in my cart and took most back out, over the past 2 months.
Further explanation: l put things I'm shopping for in the basket so I won't lose them while continuing shopping and mostly so so I can compare the details side by side especially the shipping price and time (shipping cost is usually, but not always, 0, because I have Prime)
