"Following is the long version , sans epithets and vulgarity, of my explanation of my comment that you people lack the benefit of a proper upbringing,
#1 see "Bonhoeffer's Theorem of Stupidity" The gist of BTS is that most ppl cling to myths and propaganda no matter how many proofs and evidence one presents to the contrary because they don't have a moral and ethical foundation for judging something inaccurate or wrong. so instead they accept any information as "truth" simply based upon consensus of their peers and alignment with their preconceived prejudices and fears (same thing really with an added dose of jealousy)
And of course I'm pissing in the wind here because even if you've read this far and continue, you will reject all this information out of hand because it doesn't correspond to your aforementioned preconceived fears and prejudices nor does it align with the consensus of your peers. The theorem points out that no amount of presentation of facts will change the minds of people like you because throughout your life, instead, of using moral and ethical criteria to judge right from wrong, you use ammoral criteria such as "majority rules" and the consensus of your peers.
Furthermore, people like you are in the vast majority and therefore drive institutional and corporate policy, IE wanting to get paid for work you don't perform, which is a poor work ethic, but in this society is considered proper and fair. In fact in my profession, as a temporary employee... who is always separated from employment when the job is completed, employees that aren't, who therefore have better income year around and don't sweat an unpaid day off, screw me out of work around the holidays when the holiday falls on the weekend because they bitch to the bosses until until an unpaid workday is substituted for the holiday, depriving me of a day's income simply because the consensus among them is that it's "unfair" that the holiday fell on a weekend and they didn't get to f*** off on a weekday and get an excuse to party and get drunk, stoned or fish or all four, which is most imp0roortant to them , rather than how well they do their job.
I, on the other had don't have the pleasure and energy or time to spend worrying and bitch about such bullshit as getting a weekday off and getting paid for it not working BECUASE MY MAIN CONCERN IS WORKING AND DOING A GOOD JOB, whereas theirs is getting paid for work their don't perform by various means.
So finally upon long reflection, I figured out that my morals and ethics based work ethic was provided me in my upbringing by my mother, rather than by false notions of "democracy" like consensus and" majority rules". So I'm a freak in society and you are the norm. but then you haven't read this, have you.
And this, my fellow human, is why we are on the precipice of self annihilation. In your world that I have to live in, words speak louder than actions. You all say you're honest and have a good work ethic, declare it true with no action to back it up even while undoubtedly giving lip service throughout your life that "actions speak louder than words" but NEVER demonstrating it except in bad, immoral, unethical ways such as whining about wanting to get paid while f***ing off on weekdays and not doing your job.
If you've bothered to read till the end, consider yourself schooled on the truth albeit however brief (there is a lot more to this than what I've written here) You should now take the time and thank me for making this futile effort to help you become a better person."
