bad experience with Holosun RML Laser Green & Red - Green

I was trying to get a rail mounted laser that works, having failed twice with 2 other products when I bought the Holosun RML green laser from the new company Optics Force. (see my other posts about the other brands that failed)

Optics Force promptly delivered the RML green laser, I opened it and by all appearances it was of good quality (way better than the Lasermax one).

I easily mounted it and adjusted the beam to my iron sights. But there were a few related  anomaly when doing that:

#1 the detailed instructions said the battery was all ready installed, but it wasn't.

#2 when I  installed it and tried to screw the cap back on, it was very difficult to 

      line the threads up properly and screw it on.

#3 when I finally thought I had it threaded in over the battery, it never stopped 

     turning, like happens when threads are stripped.

#4 So a couple days later I took it to the range and the first time I shot it, the cap

      fell off and the battery came out.

#5 I spent a half hour at the range trying to screw the cap back on straight and

      tight WITHOUT a battery installed and could not because even though it 

      looked flat with the laser body and tight, every time I let go of it, it 

      fell back off.

Update:I finally got the cap on securely although it is really difficult and then the battery ran down right away! Apparently this thing uses juice even when it is off and there are several reviews of it as some sites attesting to this flaw.

Owner review of Streamlight TLR-8AG Vs. Crimson Trace CMR-204 & CMR-207 weapon laser lights

  I mistakenly chose a Streamlight TLR8 AG over the Crimson Trace CMR-207G, which I got  new in the package on Ebay. I zeroed it to my iron sights on my Glock 17 without shooting it. The windage adjustment got VERY stiff before I ever took it to the range. I went to the range today and tried it and couldn't even hit the target. it was MANY FEET below in the ground. I  shot 100's of rounds trying to zero it and couldn't because I'd get it almost perfect and turn the screw a micro smidge more and it would shoot WAY past into the ground or up in the air again. the same with the windage, to the left or to the right a bit, but could never get it dead center.

So this is THE FIRST ONLY AND LAST Streamlight laser I will ever own.

The CMR-207 is overall much better than CT's CMR-204(green & CMR -205 (red), of which I have owned several. First and Foremost, the activation switches of the 207( buit the 207b today, may 8 2023 just failed as well, doesn't come on anymore!) are a lot better feeling, consistent and reliable. In fact I've had to reengineer the switches on several CMR-204s and 205s to get them to work at all. The reason I've owned several is because Crimson Trace kept sending me replacements with faulty switches so I learned what the issue was and started fixing it myself. #2 The 207 light is 400 lumens compared to the 204's 100 lumens #3 It's a lot cheaper

204/205 features that are superior to 207: It's smaller & lighter. So is the TLR8AG. The CMR207 is the biggest by far. it is not suitable for compact pistol frames unless you don't mind the laser light sticking out further than your barrel.

The front of the CMR-207, mounted back against the trigger guard sits about flush with the front of a Glock 17  slide, which is considered a "standard" frame size.

Here is why the CMR-207 is better than the tlr8ag: until this Streamlight, I've always had Crimson Trace lasers and HAVE NEVER EVER had with any Crimson Trace lasers that I have owned, and there are and have been several, that I couldn't zero and which would not hold zero. 

Plus the switches on the CMR 2-7 are thebest and most precise of the 3 models.

 So I returned the  TRL8AG dog to Streamlight to get it repaired or replaced so I can sell it on Ebay, and I've replaced it with the CMR-207 which has failed as well on may 9 2023 about 1 yerar after I got it.
