Sunstate Auto Glass Vs. Safelite Auto Glass installation in a 1978 Ford F-100

My father tried to use  Safelite Auto Glass to replace the windshield in his 1978 Ford F100 truck a couple years ago and they wouldn't install one because of the rust in the area of the mount. So He bought the windshield and kept it until he recently got the rust repaired and tried to install it himself and could not because, as it turns out, the windshied was an inferior aftermarket brand that did not fit, he said, after breaking it and getting Sunstate to install one yesterday.

Sunstate brought an  OEM manufacturer's (Carlite) new replacement windshield, he said, that was of much higher quality, specifically The 2-layer glass lamination was both composed of windshield grade tinted safety glass both layers rather than only the outside lamination of Safelite's aftermarket junk, which seemed had an ultra thin clear inner lamination that cracked just because it was stored on it's curved ends for a few days.

Not only that, he said that by seeing how the Carlite windshield fell right into place all away around on the truck while Safelite's windshield had big gaps at both ends when laid in place, that it was not even manufactured to the proper shape. The curvature near the top corners about 8 inches in had a curve that was sharper than the truck and the bottom corners were too flat sticking out!
