My Post on NIkon USA's Facebook page:
Let me tell you hacks about 1 of the MANY design brain farts in the D800 that makes me want to pull my effing hair out: It's easier, much faster, more reliable & more accurate to use the view finder instead of the screen to compose shots. But as you incompetent asshats know, every shot I take results in the display displaying the last shot it for at least 2 sec. AND I CAN'T SHUT IT OFF.
& if I use the selection dial to reposition the focus square in the viewfinder, which I often do as I'm composing and shooting shots rapidly, and forget to WAIT THE 2 EFFING SEC, for the display to shut off again, instead of moving the focal point, IT STARTS SCROLLING THROUGH THE FRIGGING ROLL! And when that happens, THE TWO SECONDS IS OUT THE WINDOW and I have to shut live view on and off again to make it go away in a timely fashion and reposition my focal point!
As if that's not enough, recently this POS started having a blacked and growing area at the bottom of the picture and I can't update the firmware because the update Doesn't Work With Windows 10,even with the useless "Compatibility Wizard" which has NEVER worked for any program in any Windows PC I have ever owned.
To get the black area to go away or not interfere I did 2 things: #1 use only the good top half of the screen for compositions #2 repeatedly factory resetting the stetting's. #3 using the viewfinder doesn't seem to invoke the problem.
I also opened a ticket with this shitty website for help with that, and like a month later got a a reply asking about any errors reported (none), my reply, another question, my answer, THEN NOTHING! Haven't heard from that asshat since in like a frigging month., Can we say Nikon Sucks, children? Why yes we can! Again with a loud 'F**K"', NIKON F***ING SUCKS!"
