email to friend, with minor redactions for privacy reasons

Is this funny, dumb or offensive? My thinking is that it's only offensive if the person is dead, in which case, they won't see it, ergo it's impossible for it to be offensive. But if, perchance, someone alive sees it and claims offense, my defense would be "I don't understand, you're not dead. So this is offensive how?"
Oh by the way I was inspired to write this by an actual form i made  slipped to a boy I liked in grade school that said:
I like you.
Do you like me?

yes
No
(circle  one)

True story & it wasn't a gag, I was dead serious.
But as fate would have it and my poor writing skills, my desperate question of love beckoning was never answered, suspending my heart in agonizing limbo for years after because he looked over his shoulder at me in utter disdain, laughed to a friend & to my complete embarrassment passed my note to him to read, who read it, smirked & crumpled the note & threw it in the trash (the first chance I got i retrieved it from the trash & checked to see if he had circled anything. He hadn't & to this day I wonder, could He have been THE ONE?).
